Full redesign and rebranding initiative for Webjutsu Digital Media – a full service web design & development and digital marketing agency.
Full Website Redesign
I was contracted to give Webjutsu Digital Media’s website and visual branding an injection of vitality. The project involved creating a new logo and a complete website rebuild from the ground up.
- Complete website redesign and re-branding
- 43% decrease in page load times
- 151% increase in organic page visits from search
I initially contracted with Steve to have him redesign our company website. I was so thoroughly impressed by his pure talent and professionalism that I extended an offer to him to partner with Webjutsu Digital Media on a permanent basis. He’s incredibly insightful and is tremendously resourceful. Countless times I’ve mentioned our backlogged projects due to our development team’s workload, and he and I will talk about some projects and he’ll just go, “Oh, I’ll take care of that for you.” He just gets things done.

The project was pretty straight-forward. The company owner, Bill, approached me with a desire to update his company’s website and visual branding – Webjutsu was a newly formed company and their development team was inundated with client projects. I started by creating a new logo and devising a unique color palette that suited the direction of the company and then built a website with a more intuitive flow, new images, and new interaction points to help modernize the company brand.
The main task at hand was providing the new website a modern look and feel. Videos on websites are now ubiquitous – done wrong they can bog down a site with superfluous weight and inane content, but done right they can boost the aura of professionalism. I incorporated videos pertinent to page content and ensured file size was small and efficient to maintain smooth page loading. An intuitive flow of information was also created to present visitors with the information that they were looking for, starting with an FAQ section designed for Google’s algorithms. My goals were efficiency, aesthetics, and search engine optimized coding and architecture.
Average page load times were 43% faster upon launch
Average user time on site was significantly increased
In redesigning the site, I focused on what the end users wanted. Even beyond aesthetics, my main focus was making sure that functionality was king. Navigation was simplified to create short paths to answers, the content hierarchy was streamlined, and the calls to action were deliberate and strategic. Everything was designed with mobile-first and then responsive across all platforms. On each page, users would have frequently asked questions answered first, then the deeper information was presented, followed by references and citations for transparency and accuracy. Calls to action were designed on the top and the bottom of pages to create introduction and exit interactions relevant to the content presented.
Through rigid adherence to best SEO practices for coding and development as well as targeted local strategies, the new website experienced a staggering 151% increase in organic page visits
Increase in the number of site-wide conversions
Of course, as Webjutsu is a digital agency, part of our focus had to be creating some eye candy – after all, you need a bit of window dressing to get prospective customers through the door to see a company’s complete offerings. To add some flash, I created unique and stylish elements like the team/staff cards that website visitors can flip over and learn about the company’s employees, as well as visually stunning project pages that tell stories about how each project came to be, the challenges faced, the solutions implemented, and the results. All of the content flow is designed to satiate visitors’ need for storytelling to help connect with them and solicit meaningful engagement.
